ICC Responds to SB1 Injunction

9/22/2022

Early today, an Indiana Circuit Court judge granted a preliminary injunction on SB1, which went into effect last week. The preliminary injunction now blocks the law until the injunction is either reversed by a higher court or until the full case is heard and decided. Below is the ICC’s response to the news of the injunction:

The Indiana Catholic Conference was encouraged by the new law, SEA 1, which will protect more pre-born babies. We respect the legal process, but are disappointed that while the injunction is in place more lives could be lost. We pray for an ultimate decision that will promote a culture of life and respect the dignity of the pre-born and their mothers.
